Hypnotherapy, The New Approach
Hypnotherapy is the therapy of choice for innumerable problems and an adjunctive approach practiced by social workers, dentists, clergy, physicians, and psychologists.
Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a safe and natural state of increased awareness and suggestibility. Suggestibility is the process by which you learn your habits and behaviors. Through hypnosis, undesirable habits and behaviors are changed both consciously and subconsciously. Hypnosis allows a therapist to reach subconscious processes more quickly, thus helping the patient to overcome problems more rapidly.
Your Mind
Your mind works on two levels: the conscious and subconscious. The conscious level is responsible for your everyday thinking and represents approximately 12% of your mind. The subconscious, without conscious thought, manages your bodily functions such as breathing and digestion, and is the center for your habits, behaviors, values and beliefs.
Experiencing Hypnosis
When in hypnosis, you are not unconscious, or asleep. You are relaxed and aware of everything happening around you. In hypnosis it is natural for your thoughts to drift from one subject to another. The process is safe and effective.
Length of Time
The number of sessions depends on the type of problem, severity, how long you have had the problem, and your individual suggestibility.
